Slide gate should be choosen when Swing gate is not possible
swing gates aren’t always possible.
Here are 2 situations where that happens:

You have landscaping of some sort blocking where swing gates would open up into. That could be some rocks, trees, or other landscaping.
There’s a huge upward slope going into your driveway. You could still install a swing gate in this case, but it would have to open up toward your car as you enter your driveway if you do.
